Courtney Buchanan, special education teacher, is entering her 11th year of teaching. She attending the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2012 with an undergraduate degree in Applied Developmental Psychology, and again in 2013 with a Masters in Instruction and Learning. She grew up north of Pittsburgh and is a huge Pittsburgh sports fan. She is also passionate about women's soccer and actively follows the USWNT and Washington Spirit. Ms. Buchanan has been drumming since she was 10 and marched in the Pitt Band in college. She leads a bucket drumming group at Providence for 3-6th graders. Ms. Buchanan has a 13 year old cat named Rocky aka Rocket Cat.
