Mr. Phillips joined the PES administrative team as an assistant principal in 2011 and was named principal in 2016. Prior to that, he was a sixth-grade teacher and assistant principal at Daniels Run Elementary. A graduate of James Madison University, he and his wife remained in Harrisonburg after graduation and taught in public schools near the college for 11 years. Mr. Phillips was a stay-at-home dad for 8 years, supervised the Summer Camp program for the City of Fairfax for 18 years, and returned to teaching in 2006.
He was an FCPS student as well, attending Hybla Valley Elementary, Whitman Middle, and Mt. Vernon High. He treasures time with his wife, his sons, and extended family. He loves to go to rock concerts, to root for the Capitals, the Nationals, the JMU Dukes, and the North Carolina Tar Heels, and to travel when he is away from school.
Mr. Phillips values his Providence family and our community. He will work every day to treat your children as he would want others to treat his children.
